The Luisa Baars Award recognizes a Rochester area Latino/a that dedicates his/her life to serving others. This is a person that takes initiative serving others and expects neither repayment nor recognition. He/She tends to work behind the scenes. The Serving Humanity Awards recognizes four Rochester area Latino/as that have demonstrated through their volunteer work, a commitment to improving the lives of others in need. One award will be dedicated to a high school student. The RLRC is a volunteer community service organization seeking to embrace the talent of professional and business Latinos and others who are interested in enriching the lives of local and world Latino communities.
